Solve : How can I expand my C drive??

Answer»

I NEED to expand my c drive, since there is only 8% of free space left. And my E drive has much free space left. So, how can add the free space of my E drive to my C drive? I really need to install a large program on my computer. Please, help me add the free space quickly. Thank you very much!!! Can you specify installation to the E: drive instead of C: drive? Through a custom path?

Also is there data that is not installed programs but music and videos etc that can be moved to the E: drive to free up space at the C: drive?

Your bound to the limits of the C: drive. There is an ability to span C: among multiple drives, but I highly advise not to span drives as for if one drive fails they both fail etc.

Most of the time there is data at the C: drive that can be moved to an alternate drive, burned to disc's if not needed to eat up storage capacity, or simply delete data that is old and no longer needed. Even going to Windows Add/Remove programs and removing software that is no longer needed and then rebooting before installing a new program can free up space on C:There are always two ways for you to expand this C drive successfully:

1). Back up EVERYTHING IMPORTANT, shrink E partition in Disk Management and right click this C drive to EXTEND it there.

2). Some partition resizing tools like GParted, IM-Magic Partition Resizer Free and EaseUS Partition Master, etc, can be the chance to go on.

Note: Always make data BACKUPS before the resizing process in case of data loss.
