Solve : How do I evict unwanted guest??

Answer»

I'd like to have my laptop (win 2000/sp2) boot to administrator w/o having to enter a password.

As is, it defaults to Guest acct, even after I disabled it.  How do I remove this frickin' guest all together?caviterruptor ......... Are you not able to go into the control panel .... user accounts and disable the quest account ?

Are you not able to change the way you log in ?

Perhaps bounce this issue off .......... Fed , he's pretty good with win 2k issues

dl65  Try creating a new account for yourself with Admin rights and untick the password box...
Start>Settings>Control Panel>Users & Passwords.
I think XP would be much the same. Quote

Meaning that when your laptop is stolen, the thief will have complete unfettered access to all your personal information as well as your hardware.  There's no personal info here, & if it's stolen, it's gone, passwords & all.I've followed Fed's advice, but see no option to ADD an account ("add" not illuminated, can't enter new acct name, can't remove "built in" acct, etc).  Can't do JACK, YET I'm supposedly an administrator.supposedly being the operative word here...

Are you the only one that USES this machine ? ?

Have you considered backing up and doing a clean install ? ?

PATIO.   8-)Try ticking the password box before you try and add a user.
