Solve : How do I get rid of a contact name??

Answer»

Hi -
I use YAHOO mail. I recently changed to the new Yahoo mail. I have Windows VISTA Home Basic 32 bit.
I have a contact who changed his address from "@verizon.net" to "@suddenlink.net". I deleted his old address and entered his new address in my "contacts". Now when I want to send him an e-mail, I click on "compose message" and the space "TO" comes up with a blinking bar. When I enter his initial his old address comes up. I have tried everything I can think of to get rid of his old address but nothing works. I have even deleted his name from my list of contacts but that did not help. Any suggestions?
Thanks BobTry permanently deleting them -> http://help.yahoo.com/qe/my/tutorials/cont/con_delcon5.htmljason2074 -
Thanks for your reply but I did not make my problem plain enough. The address is not in my contacts. The name and address I want to get rid of only appears when I try to send the person an e-mail. It appears in the space where you are ASKED to enter the person's initial, then his address while automatically be added. It is the only place the wrong address appears. The person's name and address (new or old) does not appear in the contacts list. I have no idea where the wrong address comes from or how to get rid of it when I try to send an e-mail. Thanks Bob If you are using the latest Ymail version, I think that feature is already removed which is the Filters, Autocomplete (Do not use Address AutoComplete) settings/preferences availbale on the Classic Version. If you can switch to classic, maybe you could try this suggestion.jason2074 -
I will try. Thanks Bobjason2047 -
My problem is solved!!! I put the address that was wrong into the contacts list and clicked on "compose message" to see if it came up and it did. Then I went to my contacts list and deleted it. I clicked on "compose message" and the wrong address never showed up. I do not know how the wrong address kept showing up when it was not in my contacts list. I am Happy.
Let US leave well enough alone. Thanks BobI thought you got lost with the wrong address. Good to know its fine now.
