Answer» Hello, Get a win98 boot disk.fdisk and format. Thank you. Is a win98 boot disk and a fdisk one and the same? I think I have a fdisk somewhere .FDisk will be on the bootdisk...it is used to set partition sizes, the drive will still need to be FORMATTED... Follow streets good advice.Quote from: patio on May 19, 2007, 05:19:30 AM FDisk will be on the bootdisk...it is used to set partition sizes, the drive will still need to be formatted... Is there a place online that I could download the boot disk and or fdisk? I know I have both of them, but WHERE, is the question? rejoicing1www.bootdisk.comThank you GX1. Quote from: GX1_Man on May 19, 2007, 12:59:47 PM www.bootdisk.com Okay, I found my Win98 Boot disk. I put it in the floopy and set the startup mode to "removable drive"( hope that was right) , but nothing happened but a continual curser when it finally booted up. I found a "Boot Rescue Diskette for laptops and PC's loads your CD ROM Drive for MS Windows Installations. I booted with that, and then put the WIN 98 CD in to try and install Win98.( I was told that if I installed 98, it would automatically do away with the partially installed XP....) The instructions were to put in the WIN98CD and type in R:\i386\WINNT.EXE.. and it keeps SAYING "R drive has not finished reading... abort, retry, fail? probably doesn't make any sense, but as I said, I am a learn'n!
