Answer» So i went on a date with a girl last night and at the end she ASKED me to come inside and take a look at her PC. its an HP with windows xp.. she had this window that kept popping up when she started it up saying something about set to factory or reseal for end user. so to get rid of it i tried to reseal it (thinking that she is the end user) now some of her important documents are gone.. it started up like it was the first time windows started.. i think if i would have fixed it the date would have ended much better. I hate to mix business with pleasure in that way. If a girl puts out, I want it to be because of my charms, not because I fixed her computer. If a girl asked me to look at her computer while we were out on a date I would either have: A) SAID 'yes' because I thought it was the more up to date version of "so, uh... you wanna come up for some coffee? " B)Left. I don't ask girls to do my ironing when I go on dates, do I? (Just incase I get abuse for that last statement... please take it in the way it was intended, in good(bad?) humour.system restore is the solution... Quote from: GX44 on October 31, 2007, 08:57:49 AM the more up to date version of "so, uh... you wanna come up for some coffee?" Yeah right! You think you you're in for a night of passion, and you get in the apartment, and she boots up some ancient Dell with 128 MB RAM and a 750 MHz Duron which takes 10 minutes to boot to a Hello Kitty desktop absolutely competely covered with shortcuts and says "I think I might have a virus". So you put on a fake smile and say "I'll have a quick look", and she laughs and says, "I was just joking. Would you like a hummer?" C'mmon guys...Mikesway just wanted to score some extra points. When you run System Restore, sometimes it takes a while, and you can try to do some other "things", while it's running....LOLUntil the computer is repaired, at least you have an opportunity to go back. Good luck.Quote from: Kjasper91 on October 31, 2007, 10:02:56 AM system restore is the solution... To what...the ironing ? ?The creators of CCleaner have developed another tool, called Recova (sp?). Anyway, providing the file hasn't yet been OVERWRITTEN, you might be able to recover it. Try to use the HDD as little as possible, in fact, if you could slave it into another machine to run Recova, all the better (and possibly two visits to this ladys house). Now, as far as fixing a computer for a date...I'll be working on the principle, I'll put out, if she puts out. Lol.Recuva is the name of the program you are looking for. Hope you didn't tell the lady her computer ain't working. You should have told her that she should stop using it for a while and you'll be back to take a look at it. Of course, you didn't know what her computer was like before she asked you on it. But now, buy her some coffee and treats while you get to work .... |
