You will usually see somewhere between 3 - 3.5 GB if you install 4 GB.So if i put 1 gb more of the same RAM, it will recognize it all? And foes it MATTER in which port i put it? it aint dual CHANNEL, right? My mobo has got 4 ram ports, 2 white and 2 blue, currently one 2gb ram stick in one of the white ports.Yes, it should be able to utilize 3 GB. Different colored memory slots usually indicates that the motherboard supports dual channel RAM.
