Solve : How to batch rename folders in Win 7?? |
|
Answer» Does Win 7 have the ability to batch rename folders(not files, but folders), deleting the first 6 characters, and a space, but keeping the rest of the individual folder names? I know how to bulk rename, but it renames all the folders to the same base name, with increment numbers...which is not what I want. What technique are you familiar with (that you mention above)?Select all the files that you want to rename, right CLICK on one of them, change what you want to change, HIT enter. It will rename all your files to the SAME base name(that you just typed in), but add a (1) after each file name, incrementing. So you end up with filename(1), filename(2), filename(3), etc.... which is not what I want. I want my base names to stay the same. Basically, I just want to remove the first 6 characters, and a space from each folder name. This reference might have something for you: HTTP://www.howtogeek.com/111859/how-to-batch-rename-files-in-windows-4-ways-to-rename-multiple-files/Thanks everyone, I got it all figured out. |
