Solve : how to disable the taskbar double arrow scroller (XP)? |
|
Answer» Hi ... applications on the task bar ...A >> would be a list of icons on your desktop, not your taskbar. And, the image you posted shows you have IE open, so your taskbar seems to be displaying applications correctly. Have you ever installed any third-party software that modifies standard Windows features?Quote from: patio on March 21, 2008, 08:24:57 AM Remove the oversized H icon on the right...what's it for ? ?Quote from: patio on March 21, 2008, 08:24:57 AM Remove the oversized H icon on the right...what's it for ? ?patio, do you mean this?: It's the only H I see. And, it's on a taskbar button for Internet Explorer. Are you referring to something else on his image? What is shown when you click on up/down arrow?Quote from: soybean on March 22, 2008, 09:27:05 AM Quote from: patio on March 21, 2008, 08:24:57 AMRemove the oversized H icon on the right...what's it for ? ?patio, do you mean this?: No that's the one i was referring to ...it looks slightly oversized to me which is why i suggested trying to remove this. But i'd still like to know an answer to your question...i think there's some third party eye-candy program installed...So, you're referring to something to the right of the red arrow on his image, right? To the right of the up/down arrow he's asking about, I see a language toolbar; it's the letters EN. Then, further to the right, I see a green box with the number 1 in it. That box APPEARS to extend further to the right but is cutoff in his image. So, I don't any "H", other than on the IE icon I mentioned.I was referring to the IE icon with the H in it...it looks oversized compared to the others off to the left.Hi guys, Here is another SNAPSHOT of this issue when I RIGHT-CLICK on it. To make it clear, this is the bring up the window of applictions that are open. That is supposed to be there if there is not enough space on the taskbar to view them all. This is what it normally looks like for me: This is what it looks like when I have too many windows open: This is what it looks like when I press the down arrow: Quote from: barnamah on March 24, 2008, 07:07:23 AM Hi guys, Yeah, well, why have not answered this question?: Quote from: soybean on March 21, 2008, 08:47:48 AM What does this double arrow scroller actually do? But, now we know the answer. Carbon Dudeoxide has it right. I just confirmed that on my computer. So, barnamah, it's normal, you can't disable it. And, if you don't want to see it, then don't open so freakin many applications at one time. guys I have been using windows XP since 2001 and have never seen this. In our office there are 7 more people and none of them has seen this. I remember few days ago I used to see a SINGLE arrow pointing to the RIGHT ONLY and I used click and see all the opened programs. Now I don't know what have I done, but I have installed Microsoft Office with SP3 and lots of other applications. Today i showed these arrow to all 7 guys and asked them if they knew ANYTHING about it, they weren't aware of it either. |
