Answer» A friend has an older Compaq desktop with ME on it. He has lost his "Show Desktop" icon from his quick launch bar.
How can he get it back?
The computer has been recently cleaned up of problems, and he is having no problems at all with performance.
Just wants the link back.
THANKS,This is a round about way of solving your problem but it WORKS on w2k. Find ANOTHER ME computer, right click on the icon you want, check it's properties to find the file location. Then locate the file on your friend's computer and create a desktop icon & drag it down to the taskbar.
On my w2k computer it is.... C:\Documents and Settings\Eddie\Application Data\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\Quick LaunchThanks Fed,
I will see what I can find and create on my older computer with ME on it.
I keep trying to talk him in to reloading the OS on it.
But that move scares him to pieces.
Thanks again,

DL65 Press the Windows key, and while holding the Windows key, press D. It will show the desktop. (unless you don't have a newer keyboard)

dl65, I will forward this link to him and probably help him perform this task over the PHONE.

Thanks as well.
I did actually know this one. But I did not pass it on. I knew he would forget it quickly, and the actual icon would stick in his mind better.
