my win xp has the screen resolution of 1208*XXX max------> I need that to be increased to 1400*XXX. It can be DONE bcoz a similar, identical system has got that option and i dont know who has done that. so PLEASE help me in this issue.

ThanksIf the other machine has the same OS (Operating System) and the EXACT same Make and Model of graphics card, then it will just be a CASE of not having the same driver on your machine as the other one has.

Check in Device manager to see what driver they have installed and see if you can get it direct from the manufacturers site.

The only other possibility is that you have monitor drivers installed and your driver for it is restricting the resolutions to ones it can cope with.

Rob [link removed]thers no change in the drivers also because its the company lappy and similar set of drivers and s\w. I am ready to install the drivers also. i tried doing that. but no change. thats a fujitsu seimens LIFE book series s7110.So let me get this straight.

Your Fujitsu Seimens s7110 is limited to a max resolution of 1208*XXX?   ( although I assume you mean '1280' )

What is the model of the other computer with the 1400 resolution?

There were 3 models of that laptop and only the Supreme has resolutions upto 1400, the other 2 have 1280 max.
