Solve : How to permently delete things from recycle bin?

Answer»

When you DELETE something from the recycle bin in windows it doesn't get deleted. How can I delete all of that stuff ?Empty recycle Bin?And holding down shift when you delete something CAUSES the recycle bin to be bypassed.  Use with care! When you empty the recycle bin, files are not erased from your hard disk.  The space they used is flagged for reuse but the file may not be overwritten for some time depending on how actively you write to your hdd.

To erase the files which have been "deleted" use a program to overwrite them such as Window Washer (there are many other progs).   Even after overwriting the "deleted" files good forensic programs might be able to recover the data.  The chances of that occurring depends on how many times you overwrite the files.

Are you waiting for the FBI or CIA to come calling :-?

Good luckIt didn't look like the OP was wanting file shredding...? Quote

Don't hold down Shift for too long though! In XP, doing this turns on the "Sticky KEYS" function.

First THING I disable...
Me too.... But much confusion can be caused for someone who doesn't know about it.
Yet another stupid decision on M$s part. Quote

OP's post "When you delete something from the recycle bin in windows it doesn't get deleted. How can I delete all of that stuff ?"

Yeh, well it's all in how the OP's query was interpreted.  I interpreted it to mean that he KNOWS that deleting a file from the Recycler does not actually delete the file and wanted to know how that is achieved.

Maybe he'll come back at us to clarify - maybe not.

Yes, I see your point.Sticky Keys? Sticky Keys?

Enlighten me - please.

AllanSticky Keys is a feature meant for users who have difficulty holding down two or more keys at once. If a key combination such as CTL+S is needed, Sticky Keys will enable the user to press one key at a time instead of having to press them simultaneously.OK. Thank you.
