Answer» hey,
one PROGRAM disabled all my DOS commands to be interpreted.
My system is Win XP SP3.
I can get into DOS mode via Win Run> cmd, but cannot execute any commands; when trying the reply always:
" the command, typed in" is not recognized as an internal or external command, operable program or batch file
I guess the program might have updated a key in the Registry.
Any solution?
Thanks, bill What is your problem? Run > CMD works just fine. Are you nuts?

Way to get lots of answers - NOT. Thank you guys for the good link to fix.
The winner was who gave me the URL and found that the "PATH" in system variables was CORRUPTED by new installation.
The DOS interpreter needs the path to be correctly set to "PATH:C:\Windows\System32\" OR PATH:%system%\system32
Many thanks again.
Cheers, bill
You're very welcome
