Solve : How to remove a portition?

Answer»

Since I intalled WIN 7 on my computer, I have no
USE for the partion that came with the computer
originally. I have already deleted all the files in
the partition, so there is nothing I have to worry
about.
What I want to know is what is the correct way
to remove the partition safely so I can recover
that space.
Any help will be apriciated

Thanks EASEUS Partition MANAGER will do it for you.

Do you know what was on that partition?  I suspect that partition was the recovery partition put there by the manufacturer.  So, now, you no longer have your recovery partition in case you need to restore your system to it's original configuration. Doesn't matter, that part's already done. Quote from: Allan on August 08, 2011, 10:03:13 AM

Right, but I get the impression he's not aware of what he may have deleted.  So, a little educating here. If he upgraded his OS, to a newer version, the information on that old partition is useless anyway.
Or if he's doing whole partition backups on a regular basis, again that restore part is totally redundant.

There are several programs that do a great job of removing, resizing and creating new partitions.
The one suggested by Transfusion is as good as they get.
With any Partition Manager program, it's a good idea to let it make the Emergency Restore CD.
Then always run the program from that Bootable CD and not from within windows.
In fact, once the program is on a CD, the program can be UN-Installed from the HD.

Cheers Mates!

Well no, that's not really TRUE. The image on the recovery partition could still be used to restore the system to its original state.
