Solve : How to remove set up from boot up screen? |
|
Answer» Several MONTHS ago I was having problems with my WinXP and decided to reinstall Winxp and I got part of it installed and figured out what I did wrong. Hi. You seem to have created a dual-boot situation on your pc. The last system installed becomes the default when booting. Edit your boot.ini file to make your original install the default and delete the unwanted entry. You are correct, I did create a dual-boot situation but I have FORGOT what I knew about boot.ini. Would you mind showing me how to edit the boot.ini and also the procedure to delete the Windows XP Setup Thank you for your response Louishttp://support.microsoft.com/kb/289022Soybean has posted the MS guide, please come back if you need further assistance. Good luck. Thanks for all your help , It boots like it's suppose to now. Louis |
