I have started to get a pop up screen that asks me to update "video performer."
Is there an easy way to get rid of this?

Not sure what you meant by look in Help Files (where are they)?Update:
 There is a legit app named Video Performer...if it is not listed in Add/Remove then it's likely an infection of the same name...

DLoad and update and run MalWareBytes Anti-Malware (Free)  and let it clean whatever it finds...

Re-boot afterwards and report back with results...Patio, I tried your suggestion and removed about 30 infections. I didn't see video performer listed but I will see what
happens when I use the program that VP pops up on.

I keep MBAM in my arsenal...i run it once a week...depending on your online activity adjust accordingly....
