Answer»

how to set a desired song at windows startup? What version of Windows?

Assuming it is XP:
Start --> Control Panel (classic view) --> Sounds and Audio Devices --> Sounds Tab.
From there, choose Start Windows under Program Events and change it from there.

Note: Windows Sounds are located in C:\Windows\MediaDoes it have to be a .wav file? Quote from: drmsucks on September 27, 2008, 11:21:19 AM

Does it have to be a .wav file?
In my experience, other files didn't work.....So I would assume so.

This topic inspired me to make a tutorial with Wink. Hopefully I can get it uploaded.
When it is, I'll post the link.in my experience only the 1st 10 seconds of the song play Quote from: Carbon Dudeoxide on September 27, 2008, 11:24:30 AM

SaviourPC? or did you kind of give up when we switched to HTML?

Don't forget to post it in the planned contributions thread I made at SAV... oh wait, HA! You can't see that part of the forum! HA HA HA!

*Ahem* My APOLOGIES, that was rude of me.

And- for the record- the file needs to be a WAV file for a very simple reason- the startup sound is played by Windows using a function call PlaySound() - it only supports WAVE format. Quote from: BC_Programmer on September 27, 2008, 09:35:56 PM

Yeah, for SaviourPC. I originally made it as a Flash tutorial, and it doesn't FEEL right if I convert it. yeah- we've I had to redo mine 5 or 6 times just ot get the size down, and then we nixed the flash thing. Not so bad really, since I just had to delete some frames...Well, Carbon - bring it on! Quote from: patio on September 27, 2008, 09:26:31 PM
