Answer» Hello,
Sorry if I missed the link... I did look. Anyway; last night a moment of "outside the box" inspiration allowed me to fix my computer that I thought others MIGHT find it useful.
I needed to delete a locked file that was causing my internet connection to crash, but Windows wouldn't let me even as Admin and even with reboot.
Normally, in that scenario you would download any of a number of freeware file UNLOCKING and DELETION apps, but as I said, I had no internet. What to do?...What to do?
I opened up my anti virus, and with all the power of ring zero authority, I moved the file to "quarantine" as though the file were malware... Internet back up on reboot ...Problem solved!!!
Granted; you would RARELY need to use this TRICK, but it sure got me out of a jam.
HTH LampyQuote I needed to delete a locked file that was causing my internet connection to crash, but Windows wouldn't let me even as Admin and even with reboot. Without knowing exactly what file you're talking about, I don't think we can glean much from your post.
