Answer» i have windows 2000 for my hp computer and when its in the loading screen it stops and says files are corupted or missing so i reformat my computer so i can just start FRESH (with windows 98) and when the computer finishes and I restart it, it says it is still windows 2000 with the corupted or missing files. does anyone know why my computer isnt remembering that i formatted or what ever is wrong?win 98 *Formatting a disk DELETES ALL the data on it. You are doing it wrong.QBC: How did you reformat the hard drive partition? Did you boot to the Windows 98 CD or did you use a floppy boot disk? Also, is there more than one partion on your hard drive? DOCI USED a cd that reformatted then reinstalled windows 98 and by partion do u mean MULTIPLE hard drives if so yeah i had 3 of them C: for mean D: games E: programs
