Answer» Hi, I have a HP Pavilion 2x5000 laptop, about 4 years old that just KEEPS shutting itself off. It happens requardless if I am using my power cord, or battery. The laptop itself Feels a bit warm, but I can hear the fan going. Can ANYONE help? Thanks ! Try cleaning the vents with COMPRESSED air first...not a vacuum cleaner. Also, the bottom of the laptop may also have vents for the exhaust fan.Run a memory test also. ONE of the memory modules might be bad. My computer has had that trouble before and one of my memory modules was bad. I'd try that if cleaning the vents doesn't work.
