Answer» I SUSPECTED I had some viruses on my laptop, so I decided to start from scratch with a retail XP disk. I put the disk in the drive, I begin the process, and at or near where 9 minutes are remaining in the installation proocess , I get a blue screen that says 'IRQL_NOT_LESS_THAN_OR_EQUAL'. I dont think it is the hard drive that is messed up, cause it had a PERFECTLY good copy of windows xp on it before I started the reinstall process. Also, when the install process was installing the network or was about to, it puts up a dialog box that says 'Install network SETTING with normal TCP/IP SETTINGS or custom settings'. I had never seen this before when I installed XP before? Help!!i got it. it was a bad ram stick. I had TWO, I took out one and the computer never did give me that error again. The installation went through smoothly and its up and running
