Solve : HTML Help feature (F1) does not work?

Answer»

The F1 Help function does not work for Windows Visual Basic 6.0, as well as for Windows Media Player, and even Internet EXPLORER. I get either "ACTION cancelled" or "The page cannot be displayed" in the right pane. (Windows XP proffesional, SP2)

I've found this article: http://support.microsoft.com/kb/892675/
"HTML Help features may not work after you install security update 896358 or security update 890175", which most likely is the cause.
However, I can't get my help for Visual Basic up and running again. I've patched the registry, as suggested in the article, but without any luck.

REGEDIT4
[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\HTMLHelp]
[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\HTMLHelp\1.x\HHRestrictions]
"UrlAllowList"="file://C:\\Program Files\\Microsoft Visual Studio\\MSDN98\\98VSa\\1033"
"MaxAllowedZone"=dword:00000001
"EnableFrameNavigationInSafeMode"=dword:00000001

I've tried various syntax for UrlAllowList. Can somebody tell me how to bypass the security updates for the VB application, and/or tell me the correct keys for this?

Thanks in advance,

What to re-install?  :-?
I did try to re-install Visal Basic & MSDN library (with no results), but found out that also Mediaplayer (V9) & IE6 have the same symtoms.
Besides, according the article from Microsoft, this seems to be the "expected" behaviour of the security patch. I could try to remove these security patches, but rather not. The article seems to indicate a supported workaround, just I can't get it to work.
