Solve : I AM NOT AVBLE TO OPEN HDD DRIVERS BY DOUBLE CLICKING...?

Answer»

HI,
after installing fresh windows xp i am not able to open other hdd drivers by double clicking....
the massage promts access denied or open with.. but if i right click on that and say open then that is WORKING fine....

i don't understand the PROBLEM... so can anybody have solutions... Are you clicking on the icon in My Computer? How do they show up in DISK Management ? ?
Right click My Computer and select Manage then Disk Management...if your using ntfs file system on the drive(s) that you have trouble with and you didn't format them with your new install then the account that was deleted when you reinstalled has owner permisions on those files and you may not be able to do certain things with them such as edit or delete them or access certain folders so if you can backup your data on those other drives and then format them you should stop seeing those messages.Have a read here:

HuH ? ?I suspect Patio will not be going to pconlinehelp for his computer issues. amey,

I just re-read your post and noticed this is a fresh install of XP. Sometimes when this is done it doesn't RECOGNISE extra partitions/drives that were there as there have been changes made to the registry...
