Answer» recently i had to reload the os (win XP) and in the process i interrupted d-drive format from reaching completion (when i started erasing it instead of the default c-drive)..now on clicking the drive it says "disk not formatted" and does'nt take 'no' as the choice OPTION..i don't want to loose the stored data..Trust me if you formatted it by accident and interrupted it there is little or no data left... You can however get it back to a state you can make use of it... LET us know...There are some utility programs that can rescue data from formatted hard drives, but the success rate is variable, and the FILE types supported vary from product to product. This will mean GETTING your drive out of the laptop and connecting it to a running computer. Search Hard Disk Recovery on CNET ( http://www.download.com ).
