I found a similar instance of this happening to someone else, but I could complete all of the steps to correct the problem, so maybe you can help.

I am running Windows Vista on my computer and every time that I try to download a program or attachment to my computer it doesn't complete.  It shows the dialogue box showing that the FILE or attachment is downloading, but then after it's completion the file is nowhere to be found.

 What browser, version? What email program?Internet Explorer.  I have an e-mail account that I use online.
Did you try Firefox?I just tried to download firefox, but I can't download anything.  It wouldn't LET me complete the installation.Installation, or download?
If download, download it on another computer.I couldn't complete the download.  The dialogue box pops up and the file seems to be transfered, but after the box closes, nothing happens and it doesn't show up anywhere on my computer.As I said, download it on another computer, and use flash drive, CD, etc., to move installation file to THIS computer.That would be great if I had another computerI assume, you don't live in on no-man ISLAND....No SIR, but I am a very busy person who would like to find a solution tonight instead of running to use a computer somewhere else.Unfortunately, I can't run around for you, and trying another browser is the easiest way, I'm aware of, to see, if you have browser problem, or something else.I know that if I had a disk, I can definitely download the material on the disk, but I cannot download from the internet using IE.  it will download to disk regardless- Where are you looking for the file? Did you try selecting "Open" instead of "save"?Maybe someone else will come up with some other advice, but I gave you  mine.
