Answer» I have a long list of problems, im not very good on computers so please bear with me! but then my partner said he got rid of some files and things he thought were corrupt (he doesnt know much either\0 and since then I have had all these problems Should I state the obvious???Go for it...Whats the obvious? Well, if you don't know much about computers, like you stated about your partner and yourself, then don't delete files that you 'think' you don't need or 'think' are corrupt. Seems like that since your partner 'got rid of' these files that you've had the problem. He has deleted important files which your computer needs to run smoothly!! And since you dont know what they are this MAKES the whole job of sorting this out alot harder! Are the files he deleted still in the Recycle Bin, if so you can restore them! Has your partner ANY idea of the names of the files he got rid of, as this will help ( An up-to-date Anti-virus scan will tell you of any files that are corrupt and remove them for you. Guess work can make a system go from working to a nightmare very quickly) TIP OF THE DAY : Dont let your partner touch the computer no the recycle bin is empty. I know he shouldn't touch computers, however getting through to him is like getting blood from a stone hahaha he doesn't have a clue wht and he did and even if he did he wouldn't admit it due to the fact it would mean admitting i was right I may just have to admit defeat and save up some pennies to buy a new one? Thanks for your help Did your computer come with a Windows CD, if so, then you can just re-install windows from the CD What make and model is it? Don't think about buying a new one, we have not finished helping you yet yeah i have the windows cd but i dont have the product code, im not sure of the make and model either lol as someone built it for us and i cant find anything on it that says that lol Isn't the serial number on the CD??wouldn't the windows file protection prevent the deletion of main files for windows to run ? Quote from: blackrainbow on June 02, 2010, 03:27:37 AM wouldn't the windows file protection prevent the deletion of main files for windows to run ? No. Quote i can't do a system restore because it says system restore is suspended due to lack of disk space This can also cause a lot of issues with Windows machines. Even my BUDDIES Linux machine went bonkers when it ran out of usable disk space. |
