Answer» i was making space on my windows xp 2000, and i accidentally DELETED my sounds driver. its been like this for a while and i really need help. if anyone can help me i would be awfully grateful. -Dr.DopeThis is not too much hassle especially if you have the drivers. However I suspect you dont. All you need to do is...
Re-install the drivers.(if you have them) or most likely....
1.Identify your audio card or chip if its onboard. You can download many different diagnostic programs that will tell you exactly. You could try this one. EVEREST HOME Edition for free at http://www.lavalys.com/
2.Once you know the make and model number so to speak you can search on google for drivers. There are some automated programs like driver robot but they tend to cost you money.
Anyway give it a go and you will have gained some usefull knowledge if you can sort this out. Post here again if you still having problems.i downloaded it but its KINDA hard to use lol. sry im so bad with computers... can u explain how to do it??ok. down the left hand side of the program u will see a list of items. Click the top item "Computer" and it will expand with more options. Click on Summary and you will see a list of components on the right pane, browse down the list until you find your audio controller. Grab that name and fire it into google and tag "driver free download" on the end. It can sometimes take a BIT of hunting down but if you post the audio device name here I can do a search for you and point you in the right direction. How do you delete a sound driver? I would like to know what is the sound drivers that you downloaded?
I don't really think it's SUPPOSED to be complicated to install, but I think to help you further, we should know what model sound card you are installing drivers for.
