Solve : I do not have enough memory for installing McAfee? |
|
Answer» I have a Microsoft Windows XP, version 2002, service pack 1, amd athlon processor, 1.00 GHz, 128 MB of RAM. The only things at the moment being used to rid of spyware are spybot and yahoo antispy. I have ran a disk compression already which made the system faster but didnt help with memory. The CPU usage on my COMPUTER stays at a constant 5% I bought McAfee to place on the computer for virus protection. It is not allowing me to install it beause it says "your system does not have sufficient memory to run this application. Please refer to the product documentation for the minimum memory requirements." I have been told that I most likely have a virus that is taking up or eating memory, but this is why I am trying to install McAfee. I am incredibly ignorent when it comes to computers but I am the only one at my house capable learning how to fix it. Thank you and sorry 128MB of RAM is not enough to run Windows XP sufficiently. You need to install more RAM. I bought McAfee to place on the computer for virus protection. It is not allowing me to install it beause it says "your system does not have sufficient memory to run this application. Please refer to the product documentation for the minimum memory requirements." OK, I'll bite... What is the minimum memory requirement listed by the product documentation?---->LookHereThank you "street1". Of course I was hoping "Mallory0715" would answer because I (we) don't know which McAfee product and version they are attempting to run. It appears Mallory NEEDS to either add more system memory or use security PRODUCTS which require less memory. There are a number of anti-malware products that are free and provide adequate protection for PERSONAL home use. I'd rather see them spend their money on hardware (e.g. memory) than on commercial anti-malware products. A good place to start would be here. I also believe they should update to Windows XP Service Pack 2. |
