Answer» Hi, I've recently reformatted my laptop when it was suddenly acting sluggish, and I was wanting to clean it up anyrate.
When I had finished re-installing all the drivers from Reinstall CD, it all seemed fine until I tried running an online game, and it would run totally fine for a few minutes, but then was slower than a maimed snail. I tried re-reformatting a number of times with no luck.
My specs are Dell Inspiron 6400 2.0 Duo Core Processor 2 Gbs of RAM 7300 Go Geforce graphics card I figured it ISNT anything with my Internet, as when I try and PLAY an .avi file on VLC, still laggy. I installed the most recent driver I could find for my graphics, tried getting newer version of chipset from Intel...not sure what ELSE to do. And what confuses me the most is that I have reformatted this laptop at least 2 times before and turned out totally fine. Any help or info is greatly appreciated.I had a similar problem trying to run a game after reformatting that ran just fine before. I FOUND my problem to be that I failed to download my DirectX updates http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/en/resultsForProduct.aspx?displaylang=en&productID=9C954C37-1ED1-4846-8A7D-85FC422D1388haha, yes that was the problem. I had thought of that before, but I for some reason decided it wasn't.. Thanks for the help You're welcome, glad I could help
