Solve : I keep getting "Not Responding" messages?

Hi everyone - when I got to turn my computer off (Windows XP 2002 Home Edition) it seems as if there is no response and then after about 3 minutes I'll get a message window that says "iexplorer not RESPONDING" and then I have to hit the "End task" button in order for my computer to turn off. I need HELP in determining why this is happening and how to fix it PLEASE!!!!!

I've run the linked programs you suggested but still am having the same problems. I've also run scan disck and Adaware. Any more suggestions? Thank you!!!Take a little trip over to Windows Update.
