Answer» help!! a few months ago i lost my background? it wont let me CHANGE any settings? i used to right click any picture and SET as backgound, or use a default setting that came with this pc! but now i cant? i have a compaq presario 56300nx it came with windows xp.. can anyone help? the rest of the pc works great but its annoying me i cant put a pic on the background! thanks!i still have no background! can anyone help me?How are you trying to choose an image for your background ? ? Is Active Desktop enabled ? ? If so disable it...active desktop is DISABLED/ i should be able to right click a picture and set as background but it only shows up for a second when windows shuts down, when i restart windows its gone!Right clik an empty area of the desktop instead and select Properties Then browse to the picture you want to use after choosing it select "APPLY" Does this work ? ? If not you MAY be infected ...let us know.
