Quote ive tried everything i can think ofWhat have you done? Try going to Start --> RUN --> Type dxdiag and press Enter. Click the Display Tab and Test your DirectX features.its windows vista home premium Quote from: Carbon Dudeoxide on September 07, 2008, 02:58:03 AM Quotetried going through the compatibility settings, the game originally used EITHER windows 95 or nt 4.0. it didn't seem to make any difference, tried opening it as a admin, still no difference, running the game from dos, changing the resalution, window size, and checked the dxdiag,I found this on Google:ive tried everything i can think ofWhat have you done? right click on your desktop to get into your display properties click on the settings tab, and click on the advanced button in the NEW window, click on the TROUBLESHOOT tab now, move the slider for Hardware Acceleration down, one setting click all the Ok buttons to get out of it, then try running diablo... if it doesn't work, go back in and take the slider down another notch, keep doing that until it works.... I'm finally able to enjoy Diablo I again, and on XP, no less.... this worked for me, hope it works for you as wellid say that would have worked only when i go to the troubleshoot section it says that my current display drive doesn't allow me to change the hardware acceleration settings, im currently trying to find drivers that willWhat Video Card do you have?i think its a ATI Radeon 2600 xtHere is the driver for Vista 32-bit: http://game.amd.com/us-en/drivers_catalyst.aspx?p=vista32/common-vista32 And 64-bit: http://ati.amd.com/support/common-vista64.html Also, if reinstalling the drivers don't work, I would reinstall DirectX. One more question, has the game worked before?ACCORDING to the ATI website i have the up to date drivers, i will try reinstalling directx 10 however i only updated it last night and no it hasnt worked on this computer befor, the game it was only bought yesturday No harm in reinstalling the drivers anyways. In fact, maybe you can try reinstalling the game.i have reinstalled the driveres, directx and just finished reinstalling the games but it still comes up with the same error message im so im now looking for the receipt so i can take it back, lolLol, I would get the receipt ready Google points to the problem being ATI Video Card Drivers. Anyone else have any ideas? Quote i think its a ATI Radeon 2600 xt Does this card have enough horsepower for the game ? ? |
