Answer» The internet explorer icon has disappeared from my start menu. This happened after I uninstall windows messenger. Drag IE icon from desktop to STARTMENU (pin to startmenu). This will add IE to startmenu items........This is a very common issue I've seen before, which is very easily fixed. 1. Please right-CLICK the button that says 'Start' on it on the very left, bottom corner of the screen (that is, unless you moved the taskbar ACROSS the screen). 2. Click Properties. 3. Click CUSTOMIZE... and under the Internet list by the Show Internet checkbox, choose Internet Explorer. 4. Click OK in that box, then OK in the second box. The Internet Explorer icon should appear on the Start menu. This is the more proper way to do it--rather than just DRAGGING an icon to the top of the menu. The icon in the top is also linked to what browser Windows(R) will use as the default for some strange reason.
