Solve : IE in Windows 7?

Answer»

I'm TRYING to repair my sister-in-law's laptop with Win 7. There doesn't appear to be an IE on it. I tried downloading IE 11 but when I try to INSTALL it I get a message that there is a newer version on the computer. Presently, I have FF installed but she said it crashes many times.IE has to be there. Look in: "C:\Program Files\Internet Explorer\IEXPLORE.exe"

Or go to START - RUN and enter: iexplore.exe (press enter)

If you don't see iexplore in the above location, run Programs & Features and click on Turn Windows Features On & Off and look for IE there.

BTW, just as an ASIDE the FACT that Firefox crashes isn't a good thing. What causes it to crash and what form does the crash take? Uninstalling and reinstalling Firefox is worth a try.

Thanks Allan. I just a few minutes after she dropped off the laptop but a more intensive search located the IE. It appears to be working well now. I did try the uninstall and re-install of FF. I'll give it few more days of testing to see why it crashes.
