Answer»

so i got game(revolution under siege) and it needs directX9 to run. Installion worked just fine. I have tried to SIMPLY install directx9 to computer but it gives error message: An infernal system error OCCURED. Please refer to DXError.log and DirectX.log in your WINDOWS folder to determine problem. I treid to use windows search FEATURE. I found DirectX.log but not DXerrro.log. Here is DirectX.log:http://pastebin.com/kTa4FtHf
As you may guess already im using windows vista. And service pack 1. Ask what else you need to know. If you have DX10 then games that require 9 will work with 10 because it is a newer version...Quote from: UNSCSpartan3 on April 22, 2011, 06:34:04 PM

You have DirectX9 installed as well. Most games requiring it will install it if it's not already present. DX9 on Vista and win7 is a side by side installation. DX9 and DX10/11 are completely incompatible with each other and use a new API.im pretty sure that doesent work that easy. cause i cnat start my game cause directx error...Have you tried uninstalling and reinstalling?

Have you tried running the installer as administrator?i tried as administrator. i dont undersant uninstall and reinstall? did you understant that i need directX9 and i dont have it yet.
here is an other error message fomr directX: directX render invalid call (burst mode) [prep'ing thing mainmenuback.png]
would you like to terminate this application? yes,no? yes shutdowns program and no just gives same wuestion again.

edit:sry i could edit this to previous post also.hey i still need help. I removed my directX10 form regedit(i didnt actually understand it but i do now:( ) How i ge it back?
read this Microsoft KB article regarding obtaining latest DirectX.

I guess you may have already tried, but maybe give the download that M'Soft's official KB page links to a try.DirectX10 was not meant to be uninstalled, especially not the way you were doing it. Since Vista, DirectX is part of the OS, unlike 9.0c and previous versions. Click this link, download the installer, run it, and it should repair whatever damage you've done to Dx10.

If your games won't run under Dx10, download the Dx9.0c redistributable and install it. You should also be able to find the exact same installer on one of your game CDs, as they usually attempt to install it if it's required.as i told previously isntaller gives me an error(i have tried that one too)DLoad and run the Windows Installer fix...Quote from: alluton on May 06, 2011, 08:12:26 AM

I have tried to simply install directx9 to computer but it gives error message: An infernal system error occured.

You said DirectX 9 failed. My first link was the installer for DirectX 10 and 11, since you've now deleted portions of that. DirectX 10 is part of Vista and you should repair it before trying to continue with installing Dx9c. That, or you can do it the hard way and reinstall your OS. Either way...
