Answer» Hello
When I try to install some GAMES (some, not all) an error message pops up.
"The InstallShield (Ikernel.exe) could not be installed.
The folder 'C:Programfiler\Fellesfiler\InstallShield\Engine' could not be created. Make SURE that you have the appropriate privileges to create this folder. (0x17)"
What do I do??Are you completely sure your games are compatible with your Operating SystemWell, the games in question is "Star wars:Knights of the old Republic(1)" and "Heroes of Might and Magic(5)" both of wich is fairly new. So yes, I'm quite sure....
Edit: I run windows XP home edition.Ok. So I tried at this internet-site and it stood that I should download an update for the engine. When that installs the same error message pops up.
I also tried to delete the old one before running the update, but a new error message popsup anytime I try to edit, move or delete the file "Engine" in the Installshield directory.
"Cannot create or replace engine. Dataerror (Cirkulating redundancycontrol, CRC)."
I am translating from NORWEGIAN to ENGLISH so please be..... errr.... you know what I mean I FOUND THE SOLUTION!!!! Just change the name of the installshield file to InstallShieldx and run the update=D
