ok welp .. i turned on my comp and i got the black start up screen i guess it is.. its the one after it says the sees the mouse and keyboard... anyway..i get this message.. "Windows 98 is now starting your MS-DOS-based program"... then another bigger message a little lower says " WARNING: the LOCK command enables direct disk access by programs that can CORRUPT fiel NAMES and\or DESTROY disk data, resulting in the loss of files on your disk.  Are you sure (Y\N)? "  it doesnt seem to matter what i push y or n then enter .. i still get  "microsoft (R) windows98 copyright microsoft corp 1981-1999" then a little ways down it says " C:\> "   no matter what i do or type.. thats all i get.. how should i put this.. HELP!!!!! lolIt could be that your hard drive is failing - you should proceed to backup critical files then run disk scans to check its integrity after which you could try a repair install of Win.98.

At the C:\> prompt type WIN and press Enter just to see what happens.

Please post further info on your system, hardware configuration, anti-malware programs and whether you are running Windows.98 or Windows.98sei have win98.. and i tried that "win" idea.. and it got my windows back and WORKING.. so i think im gonna take action onto saving my important things, and rebooting or something.. anyway.. thanks ALOT! the help around here is ACTUALLY really good.. glad to see some people actually dont mind helping someone in need.
