when trying to uninstall programs I get the message
'error 0x80070725 Incompatable version of the RPC stub'
I have downloaded 2 patches from microsoft, but still no luck. I am running Windows 98se.
Thanks. patrol.......Could you give us a little help here....like what is it your trying to uninstall ?   Do you get the same message when installing as well ?  I think its a problem with a incompatible dll .....

I have been having a lot of TROUBLE lately, thats why I was asking questions about XP ( thanks for your help ).

Yes,I get the same error when installing as well. I want to install a firewall i was using before, Armornet 2, and I want to remove some other stuff thats ANNOYING me, like a telephone program that keeps poping up.

Another problem that started at the same time is new windows wont open up when I click on a link. This prevents me from using my internet banking. the outline of the window APPEARS but nothing else. I REMOVED the firewall to see if that was the windows problem and then I couldn't get it back on.

Also when I plug in my new digital camera to usb port the computer shuts down with a fatal error.

I dont know if all of this is related.
