Solve : Increase thumbnail preview size in Vista without using external application?? |
|
Answer» I would like to increase the thumbnail preview size in Windows Vista to something more readable (akin to that in Windows 7, actually). Here's the rub: It does indeed. However, I can not download/install a third-party utility or application to do this. Why? Is this a work computer? I believe you have no other option than using a third-party utility since the capability to change the size of preview thumbnails is not is a standard installation of Vista. Why is it assumed that everything has a registry setting? The size of the thumbnail used in Vista is hard-coded into explorer.exe. It's a registry setting in 7, so they "fixed" it, SORT of. To be FAIR, I did ask if there is a registry entry I can change or some other software switch built into Vista to make the change I was after. Knowing it is hard coded at least gives me the information not to waste time to pursue this further. Thanks guys. I know how to do this is XP. but never really Figured out how to do it in vista or 7 Quote from: johngetter on May 12, 2010, 10:11:54 AM I know how to do this is XP.It's not a feature of XP. oh i thought he was talking about the icon size on his desktop lol haha oopes ok now i understand |
