Solve : Incredimail spyware??

Hi there
My friend recently installed incredemail. Personally I find it useless crap, but more importantly: is it dangerous for your pc?
I googled and HALF of the results claimed that incredemail indeed is spyware, and others say that incredimail is harmless.
Which should I believe? There were some privacy ISSUES in the PAST with Incredimail, but I believe, it's clean now.
