I think this is an extension used for the icons.

What icons? Did you click any of the links already provided?
I haven't visited the any of the above mentioned links. But I had shared my experience that this extension is mostly used for the icons. Any thing wrong?Only thing wrong is the info is innaccurate...It's used for INITIALIZATION files; configuration files. the Windows API Functions WriteProfileString And ReadProfileString were introduced in windows 3.0 to read/write from the win.ini file. with the introduction of Windows 3.1 MS introduced the WritePrivateProfileString and ReadPrivateProfileString functions, which could write to separate INI files.

INI has never been used for icons; the ICO extension has been used for Icons since early versions of windows. Quote

Probably got down to 40 F?

Here in CO it was -12 last night and never got above 15 F today.

But I grew up in southern CA and it's all relative. Took me a while to adjust.see this link from microsoft:
http://technet.microsoft.com/en-ie/library/cc722567%28en-us%29.aspxCA has a corrupted BOOT.INI file for the whole state.
It is below freezing in the daytime.
Yesterday Boonville had a 20 degree OVERNIGHT low. Boonville is in Anderson valley, in the north coast about Santa Rosa. Its not snowing here in PAKISTAN in the province where I am, but still its dry kind of cold all around.
