Solve : Install 7 w/o Anti Virus!? |
|
Answer» I just got my real Windows 7 upgrade today! This is the recommended method for INSTALLING only...Yes, That is what the instructions say. Patio, do you think that Windows 7 has some kind of firewall or filter during the install process only that prevents unsolicited things coming into the system? I Never thought of that.It doesn't matter, it's an installation routine. You are not connecting to the web during the install. Once installed you need to add an av.Allan, The instructions explicitly say that I need to have an Internet connection during install. I use DSL and it is into the Ethernet card. I get the idea that Windows 7 will look for updates during the install process. I don not recall that being the case for XP or Vista. I have not done it YET, later in the week I will give it a try. Lots of family things to do right now. And I am still waiting for a sata cable to arrive. It WILL check for updates at some POINT, but don't worry about it - you can't install an AV until after the install is finished anyway. Really - not an issue. Just do the install and when it's done add an AV. Bottom line, you can't install an av until after the OS is installed anyway, so I'm not even sure what it is you're instructions are telling you. Not that you ASKED, but what I do is: format install the OS install the chipset driver install an av install all other drivers connect to Windows Update go from there |
