Solve : Install Audio? |
|
Answer» HI, My sister was given a Panasonic CF-29. The volume wasnt working. My sister wants to see if I can fix the problem. When I open up ITunes, I GET this message that AUDIO/Video playback may not operate properly. Windows Media Player said it couldnt play because there is a problem with my sound device. My speakers and headphones work on my PC. Realtek 97 and some other version of Realtek was installed last week. I'm not sure what happened, but neither of these programs are under Add/Remover programs. I tried to do a restore to when these 2 programs were installed but I was unsuccesful. The Sound & Audio Device properties- Volume, Audio & Voice tab are greyed out. I tried to change the Sound scheme from blank to Windows default. I herd a little bleep and message saying my previous scheme will be lost. Sound video and GAME controller in Device Manager- All devices are working properly. The devices are: Audio Codecs, Legacy Audio DRIVERS, Legacy Video Capture Devices, Media Control Devices & Video Codecs. Which one of these is the sound device? Audio Codecs? I tried to download drivers at Panasonic and Realtek. They made me download Drivertool and Driverupdate. Neither of these prorgrams said I had to update my sound drivers. I tried to do a system restore to before I installed these 2 programs & I was unsuceesful. Maybe something is wrong with System Restore? Windows Audio is set to Automatic. I have installed some updates from Windows Update. There are no more updates. And now the ony day I can try to do a restore is today. I went to BIOS and pressed F2 repeatedly and I got a noise. I dont know how to check to see my sound is disbaled or not in BIOS. The only thing I see related to Sound is Microphone Jack: PC. And ideas? Will do restore the PC back to factory settings work? Are there audio outputs coming from the computer when playing audio files on media players or CDs? Try the Function keys to adjust volume. To adjust the volume : Fn + F5/Fn + F6 to increase, decrease volume To turn speaker on/off : Fn + F4The OP may wish to try this utility. It does not make any changes. It tells you what you have. It will identify the audio device. http://www.softpedia.com/get/System/System-Info/Everest-Home-Edition.shtmlJust follow the second option from the second answer or re-install the audio driver using another software fron hundred tools (recommended) or click next on window media player whenever u try to play musicThanks everyone for replying. Pressing FN+F5 and the other combination didnt make a difference. The sound drivers I have are Sigma Tel C-Major Audio. I updated this driver earlier today. But I still cant play music with ITunes or Windows Media Player. The 5 devices under Sound, Video & Game Controller all say "Unknown location". Another thing with Drivertool and Driverupdate. They both say that the Device for Sigma Tel is unplugged which isnt true. I turned on the speakers and turned it high as possible. When I hook it up to the Laptop, the Laptop makes a big noise. Any other idesa? Anyone know how to restore this laptop to factory settings? I dont have the CD that came with the laptop and I dont have any Windows CD. Everytime I try to download Sound drivers, it makes me download Drivertool, Driverupdate or some similar software that checks all my drivers & tells me which ones need update. And none of these software will update the drivers for free.Driver tool apps are nothin but Carp... Visit the manuf. site and DLoad the proper driver...Go here http://pc-dl.panasonic.co.jp/dl/ Enter Category for drivers needed first followed by OS then Product and Model number. It is also possible that the card is not seated correctly... I've gotten some weird results from badly seated cards... might be worth a shot and it doesn't take too long to try. Otherwise, just go with the above... |
