Answer» my problem is i cant get my computer to install new drivers for my ethernet card, the computer can not find it. im using windows 98.Go to device MANAGER, select the nic, click propeties. Select update driver, have disk, insert driver disk, point windows to it.Butchuh:
Is the network INTERFACE card (NIC) an ISA or a PCI expansion card? That is, does it use a white or a brown colored slot on the MOTHERBOARD?
Also, does device manager show that it found an unknown device (ONE marked by a yellow circle with a question mark) or does it show no new devices at all?
Lets 2k or i know. DocHi butchuh
Please follow pcdoc4christ's advice
But I WANT to add one thing here:
when you are giving the floppy of the driver it will tell you to specify a location.
You may haveto give the exact location then
say, if you give A: only as the location it may not be able to find the driver.
you may have to specify the exact folder location also, say A:\Win98 (win98 is the folder where your driverfor NIC is located)
Note: When you are giving the driver it will also ask for the Win98 CD ROM
