Answer»

I downloaded and installed Super Collapse II to my Windows 98 SE computer. When I try to start Super Collapse II, I get an error message which says...

A required .DLL file, EBADSERVINGT20.DLL, was not found.

When I installed Super Collapse II to Windows XP, it worked fine.

I googled EBADSERVINGT20.DLL but did not find any web pages which seemed relevant.

I would LIKE to have Super Collapse II on my Windows 98 SE computer.
Do you have any suggestions?Does your windows 98 have at least Directx 7 installed ?
You can use up to Directx 8.1 on windows 98.

http://www.oldversion.com/program.php?n=directxThank you for the link, street1.

Unfortunately, after downloading DirectX 8.1, Super Collapse II still does not work.  HARDWARE RequirementsWindows 2000,Windows 95,Windows 98,Windows ME, Processor: P-200, Memory: 32 MB RAM, 16-bit Sound Card, 16-bit Graphics

I would uninstall and reinstall Collapse if your computer meets the minimum requirements.I am sorry it took so long for me to reply.

I have two more qestions.
1.   How can I check my sound card, and graphics?
2.   Does my Intel Pentium II, 350 MHz (3.5 x 100) processor meet minimum requirements?

I do not know much about that kind of hardware. With a pentium II 350 mhz I am sure your sound and
video would meet requirements.

You can run Everest to see though.

Also,Have you been ----->HERE?I have Super Collapse II, but there is no trace of this DLL anywhere on my computer.  Have you tried re-downloading the program?  Perhaps even from a mirror site (if one is even available anywhere)?I tried re-downloading and re-installing Super Collapse II but it did not help.

I am currently waiting for Game House to reply to the email I sent them.Try to see if you have a friend that has the 98. Programs written for XP dont always work for 98, they are written in diff codes. Im not quite sure what Super Collapse is in the first place sooooo thats just from other knowladge. I've installed this game on 98 a few times WITHOUT any problems.  I'm not quite sure what the problem might be here.  Kip, let us know if you get any response from GameHouse. Quote from: Kip on April 02, 2007, 01:25:46 PM

Kip...

The above mentioned DLL is referred to on this page:

http://www.eb-ingames.com/Template1.aspx?PageID=52

Apparently this dll allows ads to be displayed within the game.

My guess is this...maybe you have some type of adware or spyware program enabled which has quarantined this file and disabled it as to not cause harm to your computer.

Read the paragraph from the above link I submitted titled "The SDK Content".

Based on your description of the problem...I believe it may, in fact, be your malware protection that is prohibiting the installation of this DLL, but I am not 100% certain.

Beware of games that come with adware or spyware pre-installed.

Good luck!GameHouse sent the following email.

Hello,

Try reinstalling the game from scratch:
1) Go to Start, Settings, Control Panel, Add/Remove Programs.
2) CLICK on Super Collapse! II, then click on the Add/Remove button.
3) Once it's removed, restart your computer.
4) Then redownload and reinstall the game using the link below:

I followed his instructions and instead of the other error message, I got this error message.

When I clicked "Details>>" on the error message, it said...
