I’m installing Win xp pro in my computer dell dimension xps b100.processor 1ghz, bios version A06,256Mb of Ram, 40 GB of HD. And when copying files I’ve a copy error files like this Setup can not copy the file <….>,If you’re installing from a cd make sure the  the cd is in the .cd drive. Press …. To retry and … to skip the file and ….to exit. so don’t know what to do. I’ve used another CD of xp the same problem occurred, I‘ve changed the CD– ROM DRIVE no change!!!. after that I’ve tried to install the win 98 se. the installation was successful, but  when I TRY to install the office(2000) I receive an error of internet explorer 5 like this: command line option syntax error. Type command /? For help. When I click ok button the install continue but on the level of installing office the machine send me a fatal error. I don’t know what to do. I need help.Did you BOOT off the Windows XP CD or are you trying to upgrade Windows 98?i have done both
Test the RAM and HDD.i've changed  the hard disk 2 times but i always have the same problem.i'm going to see if i can get an other ram to see.but when i start the computer there is no bip indicates that the ram is corrupted or...so just a question is it possible  the machine show me the ram while the ram is corrupted?Sometimes a system will still run on bad RAM but you will still have problems so the ANSWER is yes.

What happened requiring the reinstall? THis could be important.

Are these genuine Dell or Microsoft CD's? If a Dell CD is it a restore CD? And made for this computer?i had a blue screen,and i don't have a restore cd.where can i get it?My dell is a desktop Dimension XPS B1000.If you are the ORIGINAL owner contact Dell. If you are not, contact newegg.com
