I have DELL Inspiron 2200. I installed win 7 on it. Now there are TWO drivers that have EXCLAMATION marks in device manager, multimedia audio controller and video controller.

The dell site for my laptop doesnt have the drivers for windows 7, only for windows XP. Is there any way to find and install the necessary drivers?
Go to the websites of the manufacturers of the devices in question. If you can't find drivers it's possible they don't support Windows 7. Did you run the W7 upgrade advisor before installing it?DOWNLOAD System Information for Windows: http://www.gtopala.com/siw-download.html to your Desktop.
Get SIW Without Installer (English-Only).
Double click on siw.exe to run the program.
Go File>Create Report File>HTML
Save the file to known location.

No I didnt run the W7 upgrade advisor before installing win 7. But I had installed win 7 earlier and I had got the drivers, I believe from the manufacturers website, but now I dont remember who the manufacturers are.

Dell doesn't have any drivers for this particular laptop, neither for Vista, or 7Hi

I was tinkering around and I found a way to make it work. All that was needed was to TAKE the drivers that I downloaded from dell (the ones for XP) and install them as administrator (run as administrator)

Its solved now, there are no exclamation marks in device manager

Nice Hello. For the Multimedia Drivers, you can use the available setup on Dell website for windows xp. They work.

For the video, download de HP driver for Intel Video Card sp34749.exe

Run the setup so it unzips the driver to the regular HP path c:\swsetup\sp34749

The setup will tell you a fail message because it was designed for windows vista. Click OK.

Go to the device manager and do a manual driver update and go to this path: c:\swsetup\sp34749\graphics and it will successfully update your video card driver.
