Solve : installing 2 OS on same hard drive?

Answer»

I have xp installed on C: I want to make two partitions on C: and install Vista on the second partition.

Questions:

I have a dvd drive NAMED D: now. In that case will the new partition be named E:?

Can I change the names of the partitions and drives?Have you looked in windows help for partitioning? Have you CREATED the partition to see? The partitions follow the alphabet so.... Go into disk management and check what drive labels are already there. Why would you want a different label? It's just a letter of the alphabet not the name of your favourite song. You can rename the physical partitions using disk management in the OS that concerns you.

You don't need to though. The OS that is running will always see itself as the C: Thanks Quantos.Quote from: Mulreay on July 30, 2009, 08:17:15 PM

Gee Mulreay, you almost made me feel stupid for asking such a SIMPLE question but then I saw the statement above your sig and felt better. BTW it's spelled you're not your. Quote from: Caramelo on July 31, 2009, 09:55:38 AM
