Solve : Installing XP on a SATA Hard Drive? |
|
Answer» I am trying to Install Win. XP on an ACER COMPUTER Pentium 4 with a new Western Digital SATA hard DRIVE. I have 3 good copies of Win. XP all the same KEY. When I Install it formats the drive with NTFS no problem. When it starts copying files I get to 93% and I get the blue screen that says "Setup can not copy the file: pro_seg5.swf" if I skip the file I get the same message on the next file "tourW.exe" and so on. I have tried all 3 copies even one that I never use with the same results. Where am I going wrong. Any advice is greatly appreciated......Thank YouTry a different CD drive. Time to go legit i'd say.... Quote from: soybean on April 25, 2010, 09:34:45 AM Quote from: JJ 3000 on April 24, 2010, 11:27:55 PMTry a different CD drive. Errors during setup that say "cannot copy file" usually point to a dirty CD or CD DRIVE. Quote from: soybean Quote from: JJ 3000 on April 25, 2010, 06:27:55 AM Roll eyes at soybean drive /= disk |
