Login into the BIOS of your computer and change the 1st boot device to you CD/DVD ROM save then exit It's not going to do this with Vista installed ....Have you not read the rest of this Topic ? ?Quote from: squall_01 on March 09, 2008, 10:11:24 AM It shouldnt preventing him from formating the drive. Like with f-disk or seatools or something. I know that if you forgot the hardware topic. Your testing my patience now...One last question, when I install the SATA/RAID drivers, can I put any sata drivers on (ie are they all the same)? The floppy that I have was included with the discs I GOT with my previous pc. It has 'Promise Serial-ATA Raid Driver G72-PRSA030' printed on it, will it be ok to use these drivers with my new pc, or do I have to download drivers for my specific machine? It's always best to use the ones written by the manuf....the one's you have there may be for an add-on card and may not work properly. Wow, that WENT a lot easier than I expected. I changed the boot order and was able to boot from the xp disc. I pressed F6 when it asked if I wanted to install 3rd party sata drivers but i got the message that no floppy disc had been detected, and there was no option to NAVIGATE to a usb flash drive. I had 2 options either cancel install or continue without installing 3rd party drivers. I chose to continue and the install carried on just like a normal xp install and I was able delete partitions and format the drive as normal without removing it from the pc. Thanks for all the help.Your most welcome. Young Grass Hopper |
