Solve : instantaneous redirection from a website?

Answer»

I am using Windows Vista and Firefox on a Dell Vostro.  There have been a couple of websites that have redirected me to advertising sites without having the chance to get back to the requested site.  It appears for a fraction of a second, then the ad site comes up.  HITTING the back arrow doesn't help.  Is this just some kind of scam and the requested site doesn't really exist or can I get to it somehow?  Thanks in advanceDepending on where on the web you are going, redirection sites do exist. GENERALLY this type of problem happens more frequently with QUESTIONABLE content sites... If otherwise your computer browses FINE and is otherwise not redirected until visiting a specific site, then it can be assumed that its a redirector out there that is fishing for someone to click on it to redirect you elsewhere.

Is the website you are having this problem with appropriate to share here for us to test to see if its really a redirection site or if your system itself is INFECTED somehow with adware? Thanks for replying Dave.  I don't even remember the websites that did this.  It was not something that I was searching for.  It was a hyperlink.  Hyperlink---I think that's the correct term.If it was a one time occurrence then it was likely a redirection site and not malware.
